Parks and Recreation will not reserve picnic shelters in city parks. Shelters will now be available on a first come basis to help fund about 17 000 in park repairs and improvements.
About 25 Oberlin students gathered to support four peers arrested during an anti CIA protest outside Peters Hall. The rally raised 150 for the defense fund led by student council president Jeff Goldwasser and included Spartacist Youth League aid. Preliminary hearings set for next week in Oberlin Municipal Court.
Robert Ray Ross a 38 year old Lorain man and former Admiral King track star was sentenced to 7 20 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of receiving stolen property possessing stolen items and several drugs at his Windsor Court home. He received 3 10 years for stolen property and 4 10 for cocaine with a 500 dollar misdemeanor marijuana fine suspended. He was acquitted of a Valium possession charge and plans to appeal.
