Lorain County health board backs tuberculosis hospital plan
At the Lorain County General Health District Advisory Council annual meeting a resolution favored a local tuberculosis sanitarium or hospital for the county. Dr. Barrett and Dr. Baldwin urged facilities as 115 active cases are known and 65 to 70 deaths occurred in 1938. The county now spends $9,000 to $10,000 yearly sending cases outside the county, with a plan to bring beds home.
