Midview and Avon battle in brush with clutch hits delayed
Hawke praised visiting youths as Midview pitcher Joe Barna hurled five solid innings. Avon’s Phil Brun matched him until a two-run sixth inning by Avon's hitters, capped by timely hits from Jaykel Loczi and Kevin Ford, and strong defense from Garret Gronowski and Moats. Avon left runners on base and could not capitalize, while Midview held on for a tight nonleague game on a major league field.
