Rubber unions reach tentative three year pacts
Firestone Tire & Rubber Co and URW settle a three year contract modelled on the recent Goodrich deal. The accord includes a 43 cent hourly raise and a cost of living adjustment, totaling about 1.89 dollars over three years with 5 percent inflation assumed. It covers about 8,500 Firestone workers across multiple cities. Goodrich agreement mirrors the pattern, covering 7,500 workers in five plants.
