Spang Muse Festival Comes to Columbia High
Columbia High School will stage its annual Spang Muse Festival Tuesday at 7:30 PM in the auditorium. Tickets are available from chorus members or at the door. The Avon Lake Republican Women’s Club hosts a morning program Wednesday at 10 AM featuring the Pepper Shakers Tape Team from Shake Heights and Dr Robert Morns’s Our Achilles Heel program on U.S. foreign policy.

4H clubs promote safety on highways with new signs
Ene County 4H clubs promote farm safety by selling phosphorescent aluminum signs visible up to 1000 feet during the day to hang on slow moving machines. John Aylsworth, 4H agent, notes a profit for clubs as the project gains approval. New projects include a dog obedience group named Houling Hounds led by James Bart. Also approved is a goat project with signup by May 15 and more hog exhibits at the Erie County fair with support from Kiwans Clubs and Waldeck Packing Co.

City to back nursery plan for parks and trees

Woman Arrested on Peace Charge
Norma Hoke, 31, of 112 Seneca Street, was arrested on a disturbing the peace charge after an incident at 356 West Broad Street tavern. Bar employee Miss Gerry Booth and officers reported Hoke sat on the floor, cut off drinks, ripped a telephone receiver, and exchanged insults with a male patron who allegedly pushed her.
