Lorain County issues seek replacement health levies
Lorain County voters will decide Issue 12 a five year 1 mill replacement levy for the General Health District affecting all but four cities and Issue 13 a five year reduced millage for the Tuberculosis Clinic. If approved the Health District would raise about 3.9 million next year and the Clinic 745 thousand, with modest combined tax increases for homeowners. The Health District employs 67 people and would expand school district outreach while the Clinic serves about 13 000 people yearly and tests jail and detention residents. The Chronicle Telegram urges a yes vote on both.
