Residents press for South Canterbury Road repair in North Olmsted

Pebblebrook and Viewpoint residents urged City Council to fund South Canterbury Road improvements after last month’s capital plan omitted the project. They cited 250 and 60 homes affected, dirt surface, lack of lines, and concerns over a $600,000 price tag versus $60,000 for engineering. Council weighs resurfacing or smaller design as debate continues.

Councilman Jack Baird supports renovating the courthouse, arguing a dollar a year for 100 years is a good deal. Other councilmen Latko, Jarge, and Gibbs show concerns but may approve. Opponent Herman Larkins proposes moving the Municipal Court to an expanded police station and using the courthouse for law library or storage, while Lundy calls the courthouse the county’s most beautiful building.
