OBERLIN PRESIDENT WRITES BOOK
Oberlin, 0 May 3 The need of a three year college course in America's higher educational institutions is pointed out in a new book written by Dr. Ernest Hatch Wilkins president of Oberlin College. He says two types of students exist those entering a profession and those with no professional interests. A three year college would serve the latter, providing training to live intelligently in society. Professional colleges would stay four years and could raise entrance requirements for greater rigor. The Beadle dime novels began in 1860 and were popular with Civil War soldiers.
