Notable Performance by the Choral Department of the Musical Art Society
Homer B. Hatch, Cleveland critic, reviews the Elyria Musical Society Choral Department concert. He praises the balanced chorus, strong first soprano, and notable soloists, while noting minor flaws in pianissimo, dialect in the Negro spiritual, and overall strong conducting by Mrs. Mayhew. The report highlights performances of Elgar pieces, Dvorak songs, Brahms, and Niemann works, with emphasis on ensemble and accompaniment by Mrs. Elgar and others.

Garden Talks Br C J Van Luit Garden Talks
Busy garden days with soil ready for planting. Plant early seeds now but expect light frosts. Plant onions from seed and stagger gladiola bulbs for continuous bloom. Buy seed by weight for economy. Varieties Tamarix Africana and Hispida offer lacey foliage and pink blooms.
Evergreen Temarix plant valued for drooping form near water
The article describes blueish green evergreen Temarix varieties with a drooping habit ideal for pool or rockery planting. It notes the plant tends to sprawl over the scene, is hard to transplant due to single-tong roots, and performs best as a small specimen in rich, water-taturated soil.
Local notices hint at a large plant and church supper listing
An item notes a plant that requires little pruning and could reach twelve feet tall with wide spread if left to grow naturally. A separate church supper advertises a chicken dinner at La Porte Church on May 5 for 35 cents, with play of Pinochle six nights for one dollar. Entries close Wednesday at 3rd Floor Sharp Block.
