Kills Girl Says She Set Date Jilted Him

Report from Washington describes a man confessing to killing a schoolteacher, Rebecca Nelson, four miles west of Manly Iowa after she refused his escort. He then attempted to rob a bank but was overpowered by bank employees. Police say Irving Bonker admitted the shooting and claimed intoxicants influenced him.

The board met in this city yesterday afternoon and organized for the present term. F A Stetson was elected chief deputy. A contest for chief clerk pitted A S Sayers and Judge Duffy both of Lorain. after five ballots Sayers was re elected on the final unanimous ballot. E E Sperry of Oberlin was elected deputy at the Elyria office and Miss Mary Seward of Elyria was chosen stenographer and deputy.

Baritones tenors and basses of the Metropolitan Grand Opera seek the hand of Mrs Enrico Caruso widow of the famed singer as they compete for her consideration. The players differ on whether she will marry again with Mrs Caruso not yet considering remarriage but the competition continues.

Police Raid Hobo Camp at Telegraph Road Corner

Sheriff Backus and a posse raided an old house at Telegraph road and Murray ridge last night, arresting twelve hoboes occupying the premises. Neighbors complained it was a regular roost for tramps who had set a permanent camp there. The house contained old cooking utensils and a cellar fireplace. The detainees were driven to town, held overnight, and warned to stay away from the area.

Followed Women Lakewood Men Are Fined

Two Lakewood men Frank Monney and G F O Donnell were arraigned in police court on a complaint by Naomi Harfling and Ella Carr of Louisville Kentucky. They said the men trailed their car from Pittsburgh and sometimes crowded it during the chase.

Drivers fined after car veers into ditch incident

Manley faced a reckless driving charge with a $25 fine plus costs while O'Donnell was fined $5 and costs for drunkenness. A pint bottle of liquor was found in the car. The men paid fines and the women continued on their way.
