Park rangers to work for police under modified plan
Elyria officials will move two full time rangers into the police department while keeping their ranger titles. Police will supervise their law enforcement in city parks, with the rangers remaining rangers. The change is a resource reallocation, not a cost cut, and takes effect next week as administration reforms proceed. Ann Tanner, head of the city workers union, welcomed the compromise.
