Firelands Schools investigate teacher over sexually charged remarks
In 2014 Joe Miller faced an inquiry over language deemed inappropriate and sexually harassing toward students while teaching a government class at Firelands High School. He received a one day paid suspension after an internal review led by Assistant Principal Dave Brown. Miller, Amherst City Councilman and Ohio House candidate, disputed the charges and suggested a rival campaign had leaked the tip.

Four people were taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a two vehicle crash on North Ridge Road that sent a car into Leidenheimer Dental Group. All involved had minor injuries and remained conscious. Firefighters and Sheffield Township Mutual aid assisted. one employee narrowly avoided harm as the building sustained no structural damage.

Roderick Cross aged 26 from Elyria pleaded guilty Monday to three kidnapping counts two weapons under disability charges and related offenses in two cases. He receives three years in prison consecutive to another sentence while a separate case remains pending for weapons under disability identity fraud and criminal tools.

Fire weather watch issued for several Ohio counties
