The Santa Fe Treasure Chest Mystery Unfolds in New Mexico
For more than a decade Forrest Fenn hid a chest rich with gold coins and artifacts north of Santa Fe. The memoir The Thrill of the Chase and a clue poem sparked a nationwide gold rush and debates about whether the treasure exists. Fenn, a former fighter pilot and Santa Fe gallery owner, says the hunt draws people outdoors and away from screens, while authorities warn against digging on federal lands.
