Snowstorm Closes Elyria Schools as Ohio Braces for More Virtually
A spring snowstorm sweeping from the Plains into Ohio forced Elyria and Lorain County offices to close as 5 to 12 inch accumulations spread eastward. Cleveland Hopkins Airport reported 12 inches in 24 hours, the heaviest since 1954, with up to 18 inches forecast in eastern Ohio. City crews plowed through drifting snow as residents dressed for a thaw that never arrived.
