Names Shape Destiny Says Study On First Names
A study by Barbara Buchan of Pennsylvania State University and James L. Bruning of Ohio University suggests first names influence attraction. Men favor girls named Susanne Linda Dawn Annette Sherry and Patty, while women prefer James Michael and Paul. Florid, old fashioned or extremist names fare poorly. The piece notes implications for parents and cites further local community notices about an Elyria barbershop quartet parade, hospitalizations, and local sports figures.
