For Holy Week the Hispanic Catholic Chapel in Lorain fills its gym with temporary sawdust carpets. Parishioners led by Magdelena Cruz dye sawdust from Amish sources into 36 large and five small carpets. Volunteers trace designs and fill them with colored sawdust and sand, a communal memorial tradition started after Palm Sunday.

Elyria man indicted on 21 charges in grandparents' death
