Man's idea saves plant costs earns $20000 award
Elyria resident Richard N Vormelker, a Fisher Guide material control analyst, developed a plastic recycling method that reenters window grooving and gas tank lid assemblies. GM awarded him $20,000 for the idea, expected to save about $100,000 annually for the local operation. The 35 year GM veteran is the first salaried employee at Fisher Guide to win the prize in GM's program.
