River flood capsizes boat. divers search for 13 year old Terry Flood

Ter ry Flood, 13, disappeared after his rowboat capsized near Trailer 42 on the Black River late last night. His companion Peter Nicollett reached shore, telling firefighters he heard Terry call to hang on. Divers began searching as flood conditions and rising waters hampered efforts. The Lorain Coast Guard joined as a scuba team prepared to search from the banks with flood lamps.

Annex plea refused by Sheffield Lake

Sheffield Lake city council refused to accept a petition for annexation to Lorain. The action may prompt a mandamus filing in Lorain County Common Pleas Court to force the issue. The annexation committee plans to meet next week to decide next steps.
