Gilbert Russell Wasem known as Gib 79 lifelong Amherst resident died at home after a three week cancer battle. He served in the Korean War with the US Air Force and worked 45 years for Columbia Gas retiring in 1995. He was active at Old Stone United Methodist Church and survived by his wife LaVonne and family. Funeral arrangements set with Hempel Funeral Home Amherst Ohio.
