At a planning meeting residents debated a mosque site on Case Road and a bed and breakfast venue at 5011 Case Road. While some supported the mosque amid calls for traffic study and police coverage, others questioned its impact on taxes and safety. The rezoning for a future event space next moved to the May 8 meeting.
Keystone Superintendent Frank Gallo said the district shares the calamity day concern. Oberlin Superintendent David Hall reports seven calamity days this year. Columbia has used eight days and will not make them up. Avon and Amherst each used five days. Amherst assistant superintendent Mike Molnar notes any extra days would require makeup under the contract, but for now no further calamities are expected.
