Bank to appeal foreclosure rule in Lorain case
An old Lorain County Common Pleas rule about deposits by sheriff sale bidders is headed to the Ninth District Court of Appeals. The dispute centers on D E Corp of Lorain and its $8 335 deposit on a bid for the House of Champions tavern in Avon Lake, later sold again with the bank as sole bidder for 72 000. The bank argues the deposit should offset its loan deficit while a court ruled D E must pay a $100 contempt fine.
