Suspected Arson At Vacant Lorain Home on West 17th
Lorain firefighters investigate a possible arson after a passerby smelled smoke at about 4 p.m. Friday. They found a working fire at the two story vacant home after forcing entry at 808 West 17th Street. the blaze started on an upstairs landing and spread to a bathroom and front rooms. A rear kitchen door was open and occupants were found to be living there. investigators noted garbage and clothes piles and a possible setup on the burning pile. The connected building at 1608 Long Avenue was not burned.
