Keep expanding jobs already here in Elyria
Elyria officials and business leaders gathered for the Ohio Conference on Jobs and Economic Revitalization where Dr. David Sweet argued that maintaining existing industries and expanding them is essential alongside attracting new jobs. He noted health care and food services as top state employers and urged local leaders to pursue manufacturing-adjacent growth like robotics, while Ohio’s Edison partnership aims to link ideas, capital, and research to create new ventures. Celeste and Usery were among scheduled speakers on state initiatives and new labor challenges.
