Pilot survives crash after emergency landing ends in tree
Stanley Shively, 48, of 900 LaGrange Rd, walked away unharmed after his Culver Model V single engine plane ran low on fuel and crash landed on West Ridge Rd three miles south of Route 113. The aircraft crossed the road, toppled into a ditch and struck a tree stump before coming to rest. Shively, an experienced flyer with about 12 years in the air, was en route from Cincinnati to his base field near Infirmary Rd when fuel loss likely caused the emergency. He had a partial fuel load from Blue Ash Airport in Cincinnati and suspects a leak may have developed.
