Plans announced for Junior Safety Patrol in Elyria schools

About 100 people attended, with police and school officials pledging cooperation. Patrols will wear Sam Browne belts and signal flags, and each participating school will have its own miniature police department led by a chief and captain. Plans call for initial crews in three or four schools with heavy street traffic, expanding later to county schools near main highways. The Automobile Club will furnish equipment and host monthly activities and a summer picnic. Canton Auto Club's P. R. McConnell praised the program, noting only one serious accident in eight years.
