Elyria police investigated after a mother found severe bruising on her child following weekend punishment by a male caretaker. The caretaker called about running late and sought to keep the boy overnight before the mother reported to the abuse hotline and brought the boy to EMH Regional Medical Center. Police photographed the injuries and a physician attributed them to a severe spanking. no charges filed.
