Russell Eugene Hines a Sterling Foundry employee was killed around 1 30 p m while lifting a mold part when the upper half slipped and struck his head. He was 32 and a Mason with ties to Wellington Lodge 127 F and A M the R and A M 109 and the Lake Erie Consistory. Surviving are his wife Evelyn five children a sister and four step children. Masonic services are set for Wednesday night at Andrews Funeral Home with funeral Thursday 2 p m at Grafton Methodist Church. Burial in Greenswood cemetery the casket to remain closed.

Three young women from South Amherst were rushed to Amherst Hospital after a two car crash on Quarry Road south of the village. Lora McCurdy 20 drove one car with knee contusions. Ruth Costanzo 18 and Bertha Costanzo 22 suffered leg lacerations and dental injuries. Carl Edward New 20 of Amherst faced charges for no license and DUI after reportedly driving on the wrong side as both cars sustained heavy damage.
