45 Deaths From Meningitis In Kentucky
In Louisville Ky March 24 at least 45 persons have died from spinal meningitis in Kentucky since mid December. Dr F W Caudill state epidemiologist reports 182 cases in three months with 199 recoveries leaving about 39 active cases. Quarantine is in force in Harlan Letcher and Pike counties. Seven deaths occur in Harlan County. Other counties reporting cases include Knox Magoffin Bord and Perry. Two cases in Kenton health officers investigate a four year old dying after his brother. Martin Allen died after contact with Thomas at St Elizabeth Hospital Covington.
