Advance allocation due today for city finances
Eljtia was set to receive a 3 00 advance yesterday from real estate and sales tax funds for this year. Mayor Charles W. Neeson said the 320 advance is for current operating expenses and bills since year’s start, not the 390,000 in additional tax funds announced. The first-half distribution from the county auditor’s office totals about 21 000 from state sales tax and the rest from real estate tax. A welfare contract discussion with county commissioners is planned for April 15.
