Rome reports Mussolini addressing thousands of Fascists in Venice Square on the 26th anniversary of Fascism. He declares Italy mobilized the 1911 army class and pledges peace and European collaboration backed by millions of steel bayonets. He warns that no event will find Italy unprepared and vows calm strength.
The Senate opened early for a decisive struggle over the Work Relief bill valued at 4.58 billion. Democratic leader Robinson warned of cloture after extended debate while Sen. Elmer Thomas of Oklahoma defended a billion dollar currency amendment delaying proceedings. Thomas quipped that if the session lengthens, prayer may come to the Senate on Sunday morning.
In Paris on March 25 France declared that German rearmament voids French British peace plans. Foreign Minister Pierre Laval told Anthony Eden and Fulvio Suvich a new basis for talks with Germany is needed. The Paris conference precedes Sir Joan Simon's planned talks with Adolf Hitler.

A massive break in the Little River floodway levee a mile south of Rivervale in eastern Poinsett County caused floodwaters to cover about 20000 acres of land. The rising waters threatened the town of Caraway as authorities warned residents of possible inundation.

In Toledo on March 22 milk strike peace proposals were rejected by milk men 402 to n after a five hour session. The dispute centers on an absolute closed shop demanded by Milk Drivers and Dairy Employes Local 3261 and a preferential closed shop offered by employers. Rev Lowvis M Hirshson of the Toledo Regional Labor Board chaired the session.

Columbus Ohio March 25 Two affidavits by John A. Lee missing grand jury witness and suspended Ohio Relief Commission employee reveal he collected large sums from businessmen under Democratic state headquarters. Lee says he turned over 3150 to headquarters and kept part of the money, with 600 remaining unaccounted. Movements show 3150 from fodder sales to the relief administration. Sheriff deputies have searched for Lee for two days as the grand jury probes alleged corruption in state relief.
In Farmingdale New York on March 23 James Collins a famed former U S Navy test pilot and aviator died when a Grumman biplane fighter disintegrated during a navy test flight. The aircraft suffered wing failure after the tenth power dive. Executives and officers guarded details as photographers were roughed by guards.
The Pan-American clipper 19-107 completed a non stop two and a half thousand mile flight from Miami to Biscayne Bay with over 50 gallons of fuel left, enabling an additional 550 miles. The record surpasses ocean crossing distances and hints at future Pacific tests from California within ten days.

Xenia Ohio March 23 Three persons from Cincinnati died at 7 45 a m in Spring Valley seven miles south of Xenia when their car was struck by a speeding Pennsylvania train The Cincinnati Limited rammed the auto killing Mr and Mrs William A Botley and their son in law Ted Senst of Cleveland They were en route to Cleveland to meet their daughter Mrs Senst and two grandchildren The driver had just crossed the tracks in the opposite direction and may have thought the way was clear Deputy Sheriff William Bahr said.
Former President Herbert Hoover urged young Republicans to revamp the party and attack Roosevelt's New Deal policy. In a letter to a California assembly, he denounced federal expansion, called government centralized and self perpetuating, and hinted at a 1936 presidential bid amid ongoing GOP strategy against the Roosevelt administration.
Lorain County Soldiers Relief Commission gained one new member and a current member was reappointed by Common Pleas Judges Guy B Findley and D A Cook. Beatrice Ferguson, former war nurse, was reappointed three years and Harry R Bratton of 1014 11th Street was named new appointee to fill unexpired term. Bratton, a Legion member and former relief committee member, brings local service and ties to Lorain County veterans.
Chicago March 25. An attempted robbery targeting a Sle GOO patrol was thwarted by Wilson & Co. personnel. One suspect was wounded and pronounced dead, while others were routed and fled. Authorities pursued the assailants as the scene unfolded.

Columbus March 23 CP evidence from two days of inquiry into charges that State Relief commission employees took funds for the Democratic State Executive committee was to be presented to the county grand jury. Prosecutor Donald J. Hoskins called extraordinary session, questioning Francis Poulson, chairman of the State Democratic Executive committee. Legislative inquiry will focus on Governor Davey’s charges of waste and inefficiency while Hoskins handles the shake down aspects. Dennis Dunlavey was recommended as chief counsel for the legislative committee. Federal relief director Charles C. Stilman said records would be open to inspection as the set up is simplified and personnel pared down.
Chicago march 28 tug boat operators refused to consider a labor union suggestion for a pay increase after a meeting of representatives of both sides The circuit proposed a raise in pay for harbor operators but the operators vetoed it noting ongoing labor disputes and long standing pay scales Officials described the session as inconclusive with no agreement reached
