Stocks edge higher as indices halt pullback

Major U.S. stock indexes rose modestly extending a four day win streak. The Dow gained 21.57 points to 17623.87, the S P 500 added 2.02 to 2051.60, and the Nasdaq climbed 13.23 to 4808.87 amid mixed charts. Homebuilders fell after a report showing U.S. existing home sales dropped 7.1 percent. William Lyon Homes tumbled 72 cents to 13.88.
