Wellington fire damages Mrs Richardson home
Fire on East Street caused about 1000 dollars in damage to Naomi Richardson's dwelling. Sparks reportedly entered the wall from a fireplace, requiring removal of portions of wall to reach flames. No injuries. Mrs Richardson remains in the home. Islanders marked their 300th NHL game with Billy Harris the only player to have appeared in all 300.

Scattered showers forecast for northern Rockies tonight
Scattered showers are expected in parts of the northern Rockies this evening with mostly fair conditions elsewhere. Skies range from clear to partly cloudy as a mild weather phase continues. The National Weather Service logged nearly 65 tornadoes and over 130 cases of high winds and hail Saturday night and Sunday. At least 14 people were killed, including seven in two Army helicopter crashes near Blairville Georgia and Ft Campbell Kentucky. Survivors reached help as searchers worked. Numerous states including Michigan Illinois Indiana Mississippi Alabama Georgia and Kentucky faced destruction from tornados and strong winds.

Olmsted trustees to complete second year zoning study
Trustees decided to use an $11,000 federal grant to finish the two year zoning plan study. A March 13 meeting was postponed by chairman Fred Mauer. Trustee William Gilligan urged waiting for all three trustees. The township also received $5,000 last year from HUD under the Community Development Act to fund the first year of the study.
