Navy plane crash at Luauiale depot near Honolulu

A four engine Military Air Transport Service plane carrying 66 aboard crashed atop a ridge inside Hawaii’s Luaiuale ammunition depot about 20 miles northwest of Honolulu. All aboard were believed dead, including nine crew members, in the worst Hawaii aviation disaster to date.

Pike Nearer Cleveland Advised Now

Three Seminor Ohio Men Seriously Injured In Rt 113 Crash

Three Cleveland area men were seriously injured when their car struck a concrete bridge abutment on Rt 113 near Baird Rd west of Henrietta Ohio. Driver Gerald Heiser 22 Cleveland Heights suffered multiple fractures and facial lacerations. Robert Schwind 21 Lakewood had a skull fracture and facial injuries. Frank Johnson 23 East Cleveland sustained chest trauma and a broken arm. All were hospitalized Amherst. Heiser and Schwind listed in critical condition. Johnson in less serious condition. The patrol suspects Heiser attempted to pass a car driven by Samuel Jones Amherst as Jones turned onto Baird Rd.
