Colombia seeks extradition in Chiquita payments case
Colombia's chief prosecutor said eight people will be sought for extradition over payments to right wing paramilitaries and rebels in a region with banana operations. The probe also targets Drum mond Co. Inc. for alleged collaboration with paramilitaries to kill union members amid a U.S. civil suit. Chiquita Brands pleaded guilty in the United States to doing business with a terrorist organization, agreeing to a 25 million dollar fine.
