North Ridgeville artist crafts aluminum bald eagles
North Ridgeville resident Jim Gundlach turned a childhood hobby into a career as a graphic designer and sculptor. He created the large aluminum bald eagle nest at Lorain County Metro Parks Carlisle Visitors Center and a life size eagle on display inside the park building. He works with recycled materials and aims to produce realistic feathered details through many painting steps. Gundlach is now developing a penguin colony model project with 10,000 figures in progress.
