Ridgeville reviews bids for Root Road waterline

City engineer Frank Foecking reports eight bids for a 12 inch water line on Root Road between Chestnut Ridge and the Ohio Turnpike. Construction could start after council approval, with a May start and July completion, at an estimated cost of 176000 dollars.

Man of the Year Carl F Geschke Named by Legion

Carl F Geschke of Elytia selected as local American Legion Man of the Year for his six years in Post 12. He led rehabilitation efforts at the Sandusky Soldiers and Sailors Home and helped form the post color guard while organizing CARE dinners. He retired in 1971 after 30 years at Republic Steel in Cleveland. his wife Ethel and family include two sons and three grandchildren.
