Victims delay hinders arrests in crime study

A Justice Department survey of nearly 1,000 crime victims in Kansas City found victims waited a median 6 minutes 17 seconds to report four major felonies. Police took 2 minutes 50 seconds to dispatch and 5 minutes 34 seconds to reach the scene, with delays reducing arrest odds. Rapid reporting is linked to higher arrest chances in this Law Enforcement Assistance Administration project.

Princess Margaret under fire for second honeymoon in Parliament

In London a Labour MP Dennis Canavan said he will raise in the House of Commons the question of Princess Margaret and Roddy Llewellyn's so called second honeymoon. The princess, 47, returned from Mustique with Llewellyn, 36, fueling claims the friendship contributed to Queen Elizabeths sister’s broken marriage to Antony Armstrong-Jones. Palace spokesmen expressed concern at the publicity but declined further comment.
