William Seaman director of ad missions at Oberlin College was found dead in woods about a mile from Wakeman. Police say throat injuries suggest suicide after a tense period of interviews. he had resumed work in Oberlin and left a wife and two children. He was an Oberlin graduate and Columbia master, 1928 director of admissions and bureau of appointments.

Storm wrecks Easter greenery in New London
A Friday storm caused estimated $2,000 damage at West End greenhouse in New London with power cut from 1:30 to 8:30 p m. Water pumps failed and emergency lights limited. A 35 foot brick smoke stack collapsed through West End Greenhouse owned by W C Heitschne. Four hundred square feet of glass and hundreds of Easter plants were destroyed. Downed trees blocked South Main East Main and First streets. Loss of electricity also killed thousands of baby chicks for area farmers.

Lake Eric High presents annual six-school choir festival
About 500 student singers from six schools gathered at Elyria High School for the Lake Eric High School League annual festival. Attendance was limited by a 300 seat auditorium and each school saved tickets for its members. No judges were used. listeners picked favorites while praising the performances. Fireman Injured Knee in Laundry Tumbler Incident
An Elna laundry fireman, Eilis R. Peer, suffered a knee injury when a fire truck backing up struck his knee while assisting in extinguishing a small fire in a dry cleaning tumbler at the Laundry and Dry Cleaning Co. Shooting Sparks After Pistol Argument at Oberlin Home
At 11 p.m. at Joseph Donald’s home on 278 Grafton Street Oberlin a dispute over a 32 caliber pistol led to a shooting. Donald 28 was wounded in the heel and bruised near the eye after a struggle with Lews Brown, a roomer. Brown fled. a warrant was issued and deputies searched for him without success. Donald said Brown took the pistol from his trunk and Brown shot as they fought. Jesse Donald intervened and Brown allegedly bit Donald’s hand. Donald was treated at a hospital after reporting to the police.

Four automobiles sustained damage in a pile-up on Oberlin road near the Grange hall around 3 p m yesterday. Charles Fish of LaGrange was turning into Grange property when his car was struck by Benjamin Berry of Oberlin whose car skidded while avoiding another vehicle. Fish’s car then struck Willie Burns of New London, and Hugh Anderson of Wellington left his car in a ditch to avoid the crash. A spare tire on a car driven by Ray Uhler of North Ridgeville was damaged on Broad street by Clay Graces of 316 West River Street.
