Coroner offers death investigation course for police

Man Injured in Route 57 Collision Between Car and Truck
An 18 year old Litchfield man, Joseph J. Zambo, was critically injured when his 1987 Buick Century collided with a northbound tractor trailer on State Route 57 near Route 82 in Eaton Township. Toan Tesca, 44, of Troy Michigan, the truck driver, was not injured. Zambo was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Vermilion standoff ends with 47-year-old held after knife threat
A 47-year-old man on Sweetbriar Drive in Vermilion holed up for nearly six hours wielding a 12-inch butcher knife and threatening self harm. Vermilion Police Chief Robert Kish said no one was injured as negotiators and SWAT team assisted. the man was taken into custody at 8:30 p.m. and transported to Firelands Community Health Center amid mental health concerns. The elderly father was in the home but deemed not in danger.
