Alan Spitzer said a proposed 9,000 seat arena on the AmShip redevelopment site is pie in the sky and not viable. He met with Edward Sweeny of ESE Inc. and added he will not pursue the plan, citing a need for major tenants and a suitable major league market, not minor league options. Mayor Alex Olejko questioned land availability but noted Spitzer is center stage in any talks.
