A sweeping winter storm spans the nation from the Northwest to the Atlantic, with wind blown snow in New England and the Cascades, advisories from the Rockies to the Missouri Valley, and mixed rain and snow along the Middle Atlantic. Temperatures swing from minus 3 in Limestone Maine to 72 in Key West Florida, while drought conditions persist in the Southern Plains and fire danger climbs in Oklahoma and Kansas. Frost and freeze warnings affect North Carolina mountains and the Carolinas, with 60s returning in many areas by midday.
Medina County Sheriff Norman Stuart has filed petitions for a fourth term and will face two challengers in the Republican primary Albert Corp a former deputy and Ellis Rockhill a former Ashtabula County deputy sheriff both live in Chippewa Lake Democrat Neil Gray Lafayette Township trustee and 1972 sheriff candidate is the only Democrat voter filing. Stuart was first elected in 1964 after six years as a deputy under Steve Hell. He is Brunswick High School a member of state and national sheriff associations and sits on the Ohio CJIS steering committee. He and his wife Jane live in Brunswick with their two children.
