Boston UPI reports that at the 1938 opening of Pratt Diagnostic Hospital the first patients were Dr. Nelson Saphir with pneumonia and nurse Grace McThure with a throat infection, landmark event in local medical history.
A tureen dinner was served at the Grange Hustlers meeting at Mrs. Winfield Scott's home. No meeting Tuesday due to illness in the community. The group planned to honor patients at the hospital with Easter remembrances and a St Patrick’s Day theme. Ruth Ann Provoznik was guest of honor. a white elephant prize went to Kenneth Smith. Lunch followed at 12:30 p.m.
