Snowy Ohio storm snarls roads and claims three lives
A late winter storm dumped 5 to 10 inches across northern Ohio and up to 10 inches in Ashtabula and Jackson Township, with warmer temps possibly limiting accumulation. The blizzard contributed to two fatal crashes on U.S. 224 Portage County and a pickup rollover near Ottawa, killing three people. Schools canceled hundreds of classes while some districts kept evening activities. Nearby, dogs at a Geauga County kennel endured the weather as workers moved animals between kennels and yards.
