Opportunity School in Elyria Tells Its Unique Approach
An Elyria Chronicle Telegram report tours the Opportunity School on West Sixth Street. The portable building hosts twenty three students chosen for retardation adjustments from standard grades, with teachers from Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota guiding academics and industrial work. Students are tested to match abilities, taught in small groups, and pursue individualized goals with home visits and praise systems.
