Ohio Roads Critic Says Funds Wasted On Brick and Macadam

Cyril J. Bath, president of the Highway Educational and Research League of Ohio, told the Elyria Rotary Club that Ohio wastes road funds on brick surfaces atop concrete bases and on costly macadam. He urged competition across road types and cited a $96,000,000 annual spend. Bath said the league informs the public on road taxation while denying political action. The rest of the meeting featured St Patrick’s Day decor and Irish songs by members.

Grafton Bus Line to Increase Operations March 20

Elyria Grafton Medina Bus line will carry city passengers starting March 20, aiding Hast avenue residents. Buses depart Elyria daily except Sunday at 8 30 A M 11 A M 3 P M 4 P M 5 P M 6 P M and 8 30 P M with Saturday 10 P M return. Sunday schedule mirrors weekday with 9 30 A M 4 P M and 6 P M adjustments.
