Great March Storm Dumps Snow Across the Northeast

A four day storm on March 16, 1843, buried the Mississippi Valley to New England under heavy snow. Little Rock recorded 10 inches while Washington DC and Philadelphia measured 10 to 12 inches. New York City saw over 42 inches.

Mild Winter Sets Record for Warmest in History Books

Washington reports the latest global climate assessment shows December through February temperatures 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit above the 1880- present average, with the Northern Hemisphere record at 1.64 degrees above average.
