Wellington FFA member earns State Farmer Degree
Wellington High School senior Joe Hurst earned the State Farmer Degree awarded to the top two percent of FFA members in the state. Hurst plans to study agricultural education at Ohio State University. The Wellington chapter also honored parents with honorary membership and recognized Star Chapter Farmer awardee David Horvath.

Wellington FFA names 87 chapter sweetheart and president
Wellington High School Future Farmers of America selected Coleen Gott as Chapter Sweetheart at a banquet Saturday night and installed her as chapter president for the coming year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gott of Gore Orphanage Road. Her projects focus on swine production. Attendants included Beth Vogler JoAnn Woodford Julie Takacs and Jill Oldaker. Betty McConnell Hurst was honored as a former sweetheart from 25 years ago. New officers installed include vice president Darrin Kerr secretary Beth Vogler treasurer Richie Eaton reporter Pat Knoble and sentinel Pat Dowdell with assistant officers Ron Brill Chris Chuha Julie Takacs Lisa Warner and Bob Nestor.
