Shunning jurors award $390000 in Tulsa church suit

Marian Guinn, a 36 year old nurse, sued a church and three elders for denouncing her for fornication and shunning her, winning 390000 in actual and punitive damages after a five hour jury verdict. Two jurors wanted a higher total of 827000. The church plans post trial motions and appeal.

Cowboy's drunk case ends in mistrial in California

A Calaveras County drunken driving on horseback case against Will Hammett ended in a mistrial after a 10 to 2 verdict split. Hammett was charged for riding his horse Jug along valley sidewalks on December 15. The charge was reduced to public intoxication, and a second trial date of March 27 was set by Judge Orrin Airela.
