Youth Sentenced To Reformatory For Gas Station Robbery
Carl Ganter aged 18 of 113 Park view court was sent to Manfield reformatory for an indeterminate term after pleading guilty to the January 21 robbery of a gas station in Oberlin. Judge D A Cook noted probation not allowed in this case and cited circumstances including Ganter pointing a loaded shotgun at attendant Joe Artino during the holdup. Co-defendant Thomas Olds, 18, of 150 Huron street, participated in the robbery.

Former Convict Shot Had Car Stolen Here
In Cleveland Ohio on March 16 Eduard A Webber 25 a former convict was shot in the face while slumped in a sedan. He had been serving a term for grand larceny at Mansfield reformatory and the car he was in had been stolen from Clifford T Warren of Elyria last December. WPA Worker Killed in Elyria Traffic Crash
One WPA worker, Steve Drago, 42, died after stepping into traffic on North Ridge road near Stop 71-2 as Frank Byer, 40, drove east. Byer and cafe patron Robert Brandt moved Drago to St Joseph's Hospital where he died. Eight others were injured in a separate crash near Columbia Center on Route S% involving a tow-car and nine youths led by William Mc Cray. The seriously injured included Carol Mc Quistion, Lois Mc Quistion, and Rosemary Go Donnell with multiple injuries.
