To the north the river had cut through the levee sending flood waters over thousands of acres of farmland. More than 3000 Dunklin county families evacuated the lowlands. Many sheltered in a small City of Tents with hundreds more in 60 box cars on a railroad siding. Guards say crest likely today but south levees may not hold.

Car Overturns Two Killed in Noble County Crash
In Caldwell Ohio on March 16 a roadster left the Stafford area near Noble county and overturned into a creek killing Ora D Leasure 22 and Ronald Crock 23 both of Harrietsville who were trapped beneath the wreck.
